Twenty year old, Allison Slater has been in love with her brother’s bandmate, Rhys McGowan, since she was fifteen years old. But to him, she’ll always be Jake’s little sister and off limits. Now a college sophomore and licking her wounds from a bad breakup, she sets her sights on making Rhys see her as someone he could date…maybe even love. Her opportunity comes when Rhys visits his parents in Savannah where she is attending college. But the night she’s dreamed of turns to heart-break, and she realizes she’ll never be the one for Rhys.

For Rhys McGowan, his nightmare began when he woke up, naked and hung-over, next to his bandmate’s little sister. Unable to remember a thing from the previous night, he only makes matters worse by lying to Allison about not being interested in her. The truth is he’s spent the last year to ignore his body’s reaction whenever Allison is around. His resolve is tested when Allison comes on tour with Runaway Train, as both Jake and Abby’s nanny and to fulfill her fashion design internship. The more time he spends with her in the close quarters of the bus, the harder it is for him to resist.

Will Rhys realize that having a relationship with Allison is worth fighting for even if it means that he has to fight his best friend for a chance?

~~ 5 Stars ~~

I don’t know how she does it, but Katie Ashley keeps on giving us AMAZING books to read.  I fell in love with Series after the first book about Jake and Abby.  I was thrilled when she said the other band members would be getting books.  Strings of the Heart is Rhys book.  This book is a friends to lovers type story.  Katie wrote this in both the past and the present tense with Dual POV.  I loved reading both sides to this story and I thought the way she wrote the story…starting in the present time and going back to the past to fill in all the missing informations went really smoothly.  This was another story of hers that will suck you in and not let you go until you are finished with the book.  I have to say I had a hard time putting this book down and I truly just devoured it.  Although every book of Katie’s that I have read have been like that for me.

In this book we get to read about Rhys and Allison.  Rhys is the bassist for Runaway Train and one of Jake’s best friends.  Allison is Jake’s younger sister.  So I am sure you can guess how things are going to go…LOL.  This book starts off showing us that Allison has been in love with Rhys since she was 13 years old and finally tried to do something about it when she was sixteen.  Then the book fast forwards 4 1/2 yrs to the current day and Allison is now 20 yrs old and is touring with Runaway Train and is Jake and Abby’s nanny.  She is still harboring feelings for Rhys.  Rhys on the other hand is trying to figure out exactly what his feelings for Allison are.  Something pretty big happened between these two in the recent past.  Now they are trying to navigate what to do.  This is where Katie takes us into the past and we get to find out exactly what happened between these two.  I loved watching these to characters form such an unbreakable friendship and bond.  Now don’t get me wrong this story is not all smooth sailing for Allison and Rhys.  They have many bumps to overcome and feelings do get hurt along the way, but I truly believe it made them better people and a stronger couple in the long run.  Allison was such a sweet girl, but she was also very independent and I loved watching her stand up for herself when need be.  I was also glad to see that because she was 20, she had a strong head on her shoulders.  She didn’t just fall in love with Rhys and give up everything to be with him.  She knew that she wanted to do something with her life and continued on pursuing her dreams and aspirations.  Rhys was a broken soul…he had such a crappy upbringing.  I really hated his parents in this book.  But my heart melted for the love that Rhys had for his sister Ellie.  Ellie had special needs and I have to say that this part of the book, hit really close to home for me, as I am a mom of a special needs child.  I loved seeing Rhys support his sister and that his love was never ending and he would do anything for Ellie.  You really do need to read this book to see how wonderful Rhys really is.

I loved that we got to see all of the other characters from the other books.  It was great to keep reading about what is happening with Braydon and his family, Jake and Abby, and AJ and Mia.  It has been so great seeing the transformation of all these hard time Rockers to family men!!!!  Totally melts my heart.

I would definitely recommend this series to everyone.  I think the books have continued to get better as the series has continued.  If you are looking for a friends to lovers love story, then this is one for you.  This book also has the right amount of story to steam.  And let me tell you…Katie definitely knows how to melt your panties 😉 This is for sure a book I will read again in the future and I look forward to reading more of Katie’s books!!!  She always leaves me with a smile on my face 😀
