Genre: Contemporary Romance (HOT)

Her mind rejects his world. But her body knows its master.

Journalist Caroline Preston arrives at Serve, New York City’s hottest BDSM club, with one goal—to hate it. If her brother wasn’t trying to turn the family’s respectable financial magazine into a publication that features “lifestyle” pieces for the wealthy and adventurous, she wouldn’t even be there, trying to write an article about a world she doesn’t understand.

But then she sees him.

Jonah Briggs doesn’t leave his post for just anyone. As the owner of the club, his sole purpose is to ensure that his clientele get everything they need, but when he sees Caroline, his only thought is what he wants—to dominate the sexy little reporter and give the most exquisite pleasure she’s ever experienced.

Caroline has no intention of entering that particular lion’s den—not with her family’s reputation at stake—no matter how dark, sexy, and complex the lion in question may be. But with every encounter, she craves more, and with every slide of his lips, she realizes Jonah might just be the man to break down all her defenses…if she’ll let him.

4 “dumpling” stars

A dom and a journalist?!? Hmmm…are you as nervous as I was, starting this story?

“She’d only set foot in the place for one express purpose. To hate it.”

I wasn’t sure what to think before going in to this story. With the BDSM stories, I can be quite picky and was a tad nervous when I agreed to read this one. And I will honestly say that in the beginning, I was still nervous. I was extremely unsure about the immediate instant attraction and the 180 in Caroline’s thoughts on BDSM. BUT, and here’s the huge but, I was not disappointed!! Actually I found myself cheering them on and rooting for them 🙂

“I think you like it. I think it makes you wet, knowing I’d move mountains to get a chance between your thighs.”

In my opinion, the story really picked up at around the 50% mark. Not to say that it wasn’t extremely HOT up until this point. But, I still need a little bit more to my stories than just sex…even if said sex is written quite well. But, anyways, the meat of the story really took off at the 50% point and I was pulled in even more to the story. Towards the end, I really felt myself hurting for Caroline and Jonah. Caroline truly was stuck in a tight spot. Jonah’s lifestyle definitely isn’t an easy one to just jump right into without consequences…or what she considered consequences.

“Who you are…what you do…you’re not healthy for me.”

I really found myself loving Jonah’s character! Dom on the outside, and a compassionate and sensitive man on the inside…what’s not to enjoy!! His character made the story for me. I still enjoyed Caroline and her struggles, but at times found myself irritated with her and her insecurities. I just wanted her to live for herself and not others.

This is a quick and well written read. It flowed well for me and can easily be a one sitting read. If you are in to BDSM books that are not overdone, this one will definitely work for you. The story had a great mixture of things to keep me enjoying it throughout 🙂 Happy Reading!!

Thank you for your interest in my books! I’m Tessa and I live in the crazy, loud, overcrowded borough of Brooklyn, New York. I love it here. This city is a constant source of inspiration, which is why I’ve decided to set my most recent books in the Line of Duty Series here.

I moved to New York when I was eighteen, the day after I graduated high school. Threw my suitcase in the back of a Chevrolet Cavalier and drove across the country to find my adventure. I’m still finding it, little by little.

Thank you for being a part of it.
