~ 4 Stars ~

Sky High was my first book by C.J. Lake. I really enjoyed this story. It was a fun, flirty and sexy read. It is also a book that can be read in less than a day.

I thought the storyline and flow of the story was really good. I also enjoyed the characters and how well she developed them. My only real complaint about this book was the ending. I felt it was kind of abrupt. I would’ve loved to have an epilogue or even just another chapter or two completing their story better. Now don’t get me wrong this is NOT a cliffhanger ending or one that leads you to believe there is more to their story, it just felt to quick. It’s hard to explain except to say I wanted a little more.

Sky High is the third book in C.J. Lake’s Attraction series, but can be read as a stand-alone. You will see the characters and couples from the previous books, but it doesn’t take away from this story at all and you won’t fell lost if you haven’t read the other books.

One thing I really liked about this story was the author had the characters become friends first and really took their relationship at a believable pace. It was nice to see a couple start out as friends and not just jumping into bed the first time they meet. Although with that said I did have one frustration during their friendship…..I didn’t like that Sky continued to “date” other guys while befriending Jamie. You could feel their attraction right away, so to me she shouldn’t have continued on with the blind dates. Even if it was to help out her BFF’s sister. I will say that except for a short term separation, this couple really didn’t have any drama, yes the author tried to spice up the drama a little by having Jamie become jealous of Remy, but even that was short lived. I will say the chemistry that this couple had was off the charts. I thought the author did a really great job at conveying their feelings and creating tasteful and steamy sex scenes. Those scenes were truly some of my favorite parts of the book and not because of the sex, but because of the connection I could feel between Sky and Jamie.

I would recommend this book to any fan of the New Adult Genre. I thought this book was truly refreshing in the sense that it wasn’t totally cliche and the Hero was actually a really sweet, funny and lovable guy. Yes I love my cocky jerks and alpha males, but it is nice to see a “nice” guy win in the end sometimes too. I know that I will for sure be reading the other books in this series, to see how the other couples come about.
