synopsis

**Shattered Lives is for mature audiences only—strong language, and explicit sexual content are apparent.**

What I did to her is unforgivable.

I shattered her completely.

I did it knowing I was wrong the entire time.

Now that I’m here, and she is within my reach I still can’t resist her. My enemy is still lurking and more threatening than ever before. I won’t allow any harm come to her. I need her to forgive me, and to let me in again.

I need her to be mine.

 ~~ 4.5 Heart stopping Stars ~~

What I  absolutely love about Alexis Noelle’s books is that they are short but to the point.  She can pack her shorter length novels with a huge punch and this one was no different!!

Shattered Lives is the heart stopping conclusion to Jessie and Damon’s story.  This is definitely NOT a standalone and Shattered Innocence NEEDS to be read before this one.  This book takes off right where book 1 ended.  Alexis left me as an emotional mess at the end of book 1 but I have to say I was thrilled to see another book coming out because the ending on book 1 would’ve killed me if there wasn’t more to the story.  Thankfully there is another book and a happy ending for these two characters.

Now even though this book is their HEA, it doesn’t come easy for them.  Damon has a lot to make up for in this book and he needs to gain back Jessie’s trust.  I don’t want to give any of the story away because this is one you need to experience for yourself.  I will warn you, Alexis does dip into the inner darkness of her writing and if you are a reader who has a hard time with certain subjects or scenes, then you might want to rethink this book.  There is one scene towards the end that isn’t technically a rape (with full blown sex) scene, but there is some forced sexual behavior that might make some uncomfortable.  Just be warned….it is over pretty quickly though and if need be can be skipped over without missing anything.

I think the only thing I wish the author would’ve done was expand this book just a little bit more.  I felt she touched on some things that could’ve been expanded a little more, especially when it comes to Jessie’s friend Lo.  I was glad that we got to learn more about Lo in this book and what happened to her in her past.

So if you are looking for that quick but emotional and heart stopping read, then you definitely want to read Shattered Innocence and Shattered Lives.  If you are a fan of Alexis Noelle’s, then you don’t want to miss this series….Definitely one worth reading (In my opinion)

abouttheauthor
Alexis Noelle lives in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with her husband, three kids, and a dog. On top a writing career, she is a full-time student and a full-time mom. She loves spending time with her kids, although she has to hide the computer from them when she is writing! She love being active and being outdoors, especially if it involves any kind of shopping.
She has always been passionate about writing. She loves to read romance books and feels like being able to lose yourself in a book is one of the more exciting aspects. The books she loves to read and write will be ones that make you feel for the characters. Ashley believes that you should have an opinion on every character in a book whether you love them, hate them, or think they are up to something.
She also believes that the most important critic is your reader, so she loves to hear from the readers. She want her fans to be open & talk to her about what they want for the characters in the story, and what they would like to see happen.
