Saving You is book 2 in the Love Wanted In Texas Series.
~ 5 Luke and Libby Stars ~
Well what can I say except that Kelly Elliott has done it again. Saving You is book 2 in her Love Wanted in Texas Series. It follows the story of Luke and Libby. I have to say that this book is my favorite so far of this series. It reminds me of why I loved the Wanted Series and Kelly Elliott’s books so much.
This book was a fairly quick read. Once I started the book I had a hard time putting it down. I love Kelly’s writing because she creates such lovable and relatable characters. You can’t help but get sucked into their stories and feel like you are a part of their lives. This book was written a little different from her other books, in that there is a time overlap in this story. Instead of starting the story right where the epilogue ended in Without You, she actually backtracked a little and gave us some insight into Luke and Libby’s story from Without You.
In Without You we got some glimpses into Luke and Libby’s relationship and the struggles they were having, but we never knew exactly what was happening, well in Saving You we get all the answers because we are taken back to those scenes and they are told in Luke and Libby’s POV. I loved that she wrote this story this way because it really made it feel like this book was truly their complete story. That’s probably what I loved the most about this book….is it felt like it was truly Luke and Libby’s story. In Without You we had so many side plot lines going on that it took away from Alex and Will’s story. In this one the storyline really stuck to Luke and Libby. Yes we see the other characters and we some side plot lines but not as much, so it wasn’t distracting or taking away from the main couple in the book.
As I said before this book is about Luke (Jeff and Ari’s Son) and Libby (Josh and Heather’s Daughter). These two have grown up together and have been best friends until the day that Luke decided to kiss Libby, which intern changed the dynamic of their relationship. Of course he does this right before he left for his freshman year of college, leaving Libby alone and confused. What ensues after is a cat and mouse game between these two. They both have strong feelings for each other but Luke didn’t want to admit them and felt that Libby deserved better. What I loved about this story and this couple was that it showed that with a little faith and love, everything will work out in the end. You just have to know if the person you love is worth fighting for. Another thing that I loved about this book was that once Luke and Libby finally express their feelings for each other….nothing tears them apart!!! I thought because of Luke’s past there were going to be a couple of girls who might cause an issue but that wasn’t the case. Now that’s not to say that they still didn’t have some ups and downs, it just meant they were able to work things out together. This truly was a sweet fairytale of a love story.
So if you are a fan of Kelly Elliott’s and her Wanted Series or are just someone looking for that sweet, funny, fairytale romance story, then you will want to read this book!!! And as in the Wanted series…..Kelly Elliott knows how to create a sweet talking, panty melting Cowboy for a hero in the story. There are some scenes that will for sure melt your panties and leave you breathless 😉
