When you can’t trust yourself, how can you ask anyone else to?
It’s been months since Aden Colt left the Army, and still the memories haunt him.
When he moved into a tiny boat off the California coast, he thought he’d found the perfect place to escape life.
Then Sawyer shows up and turns his simple life upside down. Beautiful and sophisticated, she seems out of place in this laid-back beach town.
Something is pushing her to experience everything she can—including Aden.
But as much as he wants her, starting a relationship with Sawyer puts them both at risk.
For Aden, the past doesn’t stay there; it shows up unexpectedly, uncontrollably, and doesn’t care whose life it wrecks.

~ 4 Wrecked Stars ~
Wrecked is a new standalone novel by JB Salsbury. I found this to be an enjoyable and emotional read, but it didn’t WOW me like some of her other books have in the past. I found the storyline interesting enough, but lacked a little bit of drama to make this unputdownable. Even saying that, I would recommend this book to anyone who loves JB Salsbury. This book was a different side of her writing, in my opinion.
In this story we meet Sawyer and Aden. Both of these characters are broken on the inside, each for different reasons. My heart broke for the guilt both of these characters carried around.
What happens when your identical twin sister asks you to do her a favor, by pretending to be her and packing up her place to move the stuff home?? That is the question Sawyer is faced with in this story. Being the loyal and loving sister, Sawyer finally agrees to it and goes to San Diego to pack up her sister’s life. This is where she meets Aden. Aden is Army Hero who was honorably discharged. He struggles with the ghosts of his past time in the service. Aden is the property manager for the place Sawyer’s sister lives. So Aden believes he is meeting Celia (Sawyer’s sister). What will happen when he finds out the truth and that he met Sawyer?? I loved watching these two face their fears and realize that they truly did need each other. The gift Celia gave both of them, was the gift of life and what it meant to live it. This will all make more sense once you read the book.
This story was slightly predictable, but still interesting enough to keep me going. I was a little surprised how the end of the story all played out….not what I was guessing 😉 My only real complaint of this book is the pace of the story. I thought it dragged in certain spots, and that some of the excess descriptive information could’ve been left out. But this story had likable characters and was well written. I thought it flowed well and was what I come to expect from a JB Salsbury book.
This book was a emotional story of two broken souls who learn to live again and find love. If that sounds like something you’d like then you should give this story a try.
