~ 5 Stars ~
What happens when you are so set on getting revenge, that when you meet someone who changes you thoughts and feelings on this topic, do go through with your plan or do you give up the idea for a chance at pure happiness??
Well that is the question Sela is faced with in Sugar Daddy.
Sugar Daddy is the first of a three books in Sawyer Bennett’s new Sugar Bowl Trilogy. This book is NOT a standalone novel and does end with a pretty harsh CLIFFHANGER!!! It’s one that I would recommend that if you are not a fan of cliffy’s then I would wait until at least book 2 is released before starting this book. I personally am dying to know what will happen next!!!! I will also warn readers that the subject of rape is brought into this storyline, nothing is overly graphic but it still could be a trigger for some readers.
This book was so different from the other books I have read by Sawyer Bennett. Usually her books are fun and sexy and on the lighter side of reading. Well this book was not that. Yes this book is still just as sexy as her other books, but she takes a darker turn with this storyline. I don’t want to give to much away about the plot, because this is a book that needs to be experienced first hand. My emotions were all over the place with this book. I was angry, sad, at time happy and of course this book had me blushing 😉 I love when an author can draw all those emotions out of her readers. I loved that this book was told in Dual POV, I always feel that adds so much more to the story and emotions behind the characters.
In Sugar Daddy we meet Sela and Beckett (Beck). Beck is the co-owner of the company called the Sugar Bowl. It’s a dating service that sets up wealthy older men with younger girls who want there bills paid and for a man to buy them fancy things. Sela is a girl who is h*ll bent on revenge for something that happened to her in the past. She has set out to get back at JT (Beck’s friend and business partner) and has decided to infiltrate the Sugar Bowl to gain access to JT. But that plan goes awry and she ends up meeting Beck. That is as much as I am going to say about this storyline, if you want to know what happens between Beck and Sela you will have to read the book!!! I will say this I loved both of these characters. Sela was such a strong and determined person, but under it all she was still just a vulnerable girl trying to make a better life for herself. Beck was AMAZING!! Totally swoon worthy and definitely on my BBF list. I have a feeling that Sela and Beck’s road to a HEA is going to be a very long and bumpy one.
I will say I went into this story thinking one thing about how I thought this story was going to go and was completely surprised with what we really got. I will say that some things were fairly predictable because of reading the blurb, but it still took me by surprise and I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I read it in less than a day, I couldn’t put it down.
If you are a fan of Sawyer Bennett’s books, you don’t want to miss this new trilogy !!! I think this is some of her best writing to date.
