They call him a monster.
Pale blue eyes as cold as ice that see right through you.
He lives in a castle fit for a fairy tale, but he’s no prince.
He’s a killer.
By an act of fate, our worlds collide.
They call him a monster, but he is my salvation.

~ 5 Stepping Into the Light Stars ~
WOW!!! What an amazing journey L.A. Fiore has given us in this book. I say journey because this story was so much more than just a love story. It was a story about two people who went through some really horrible stuff but in the end still come out on the lighter side of the darkness.
I don’t want to say too much about this storyline because this is a book that needs to unfold itself for every reader. Just know this book is slightly dark, raw and gritty, but it did have it’s lighthearted times and definitely its romance and sexy times. This book truly had it all. As a reader I found myself laughing at times, crying, yelling, sitting on the edge of my seat and even swooning at times. I loved all the emotions this book brought out of me. This is definitely one of my favorite reads this year!!!
“Even in the ugly there is beauty.”
That quote stood out to me while I was reading this story. Because it is so true!!! You’ll understand this better after reading Brochan and Lizzie’s story. Be warned some of the material in this book is kind of hard to read, but I loved that Ms. Fiore didn’t get to overly graphic in this book. What she was able to do was make me feel everything Lizzie and Brochan felt. My heart broke so many times for these two characters.
Brochan is a loner who grew up and lives in a castle in Scotland. Lizzie is also a loner who is an artist who lives in New York City. But some small twist of fate….Lizzie goes to Scotland, only to have her life changed forever. Brochan is kind of dark and consider a Monster by the towns people, but not to Lizzie. She actually sees him for who he really is down deep. Can Brochan and Lizzie be each others savior?? Can these two find a HEA?? Read this book to find out.
The writing of this story was perfection. I loved all the details L.A.Fiore put into her descriptions of Scotland. She made me feel like I was actually there and could totally picture all of the scenery. The flow and pace of the story was perfect as well. We are given just enough information without it dragging the story out, but helped us with the connection to the characters. I also loved that she added an suspenseful aspect to the story….it kept me turning the pages so fast that I didn’t want to put the book down. She kept throwing new surprises at me when I least expected them. So GOOD!!!!!
What I love the most about a L.A Fiore book is just how unique and different they are from all other books I have read or even from her previous books. I am always in awe of how she can come up with some of these stories. Truly a brilliant literary mind!!!
I would recommend you read any and all of L.A. Fiore’s books, but if she is new to you then starting with Savage is a great place to start. It is a standalone novel told in Dual POV. It is a complete story with NO Cliffhanger. It is the perfect introduction to this authors writing. And if you have read her books before then you know how AMAZING this book is and you don’t want to miss reading it!!!!
L.A. Fiore is the author of several books including Beautifully Damaged, Collecting the Pieces and His Light in the Dark. Her favorite movie is Star Wars, a love her son shares. They hope to build their own Millennium Falcon one day. She would like to meet the Winchester Boys to thank them for enlightening her on the versatility of salt as not just a food enhancer, but as protection from supernatural threats. And she thinks it would be interesting to be a zombie, to get an idea of what life is like as a brain-addicted fiend so she can be their voice to tell their side of the story. She lives in Pennsylvania with her husband and kids, their two spoiled cats and their awesome dog.
