~ 4.5 Whirlwind Stars ~

Whirlwind totally describes my feelings after reading the first part of the Crave Duet.

I was blown away while reading this story. This is a unique and captivating Young Adult story. I am almost willing to say it is a Mature YA book, because even though the characters are in high school, there are some adult themes that I don’t believe anyone under 17 should read about.

I can’t really tell you much about this story, you will for sure need to read this book and experience all the emotions and feelings that went into this story on your own. This is a book you should go into blind.

I will say that what I loved the most about this book was that it took me back to my YA roots. I haven’t read a high school based story in a long time and it reminded me of why I like reading these stories. It’s all about first love and the complications that go along with that. Now just know, that because this book is set in the high school time frame, there is the normal high school angst and drama that we normally see. So if that isn’t your thing to read, then this might not be the book for you. Also if cliffhangers aren’t your thing, then you should wait until Part 2 releases in October to read this book. It is NOT a standalone novel!!!!

Like I said before this book is totally unique and different from other books I have read and even from the other E.K. Blair books I have read. The storyline and plot and twists to this story were some that I kind of expected and others that took me by surprise. But I did really like the journey that Ms. Blair took Kason and Adaline on. To say their road isn’t an easy one is putting it mildly. There are a lot of bumps and hills they need to overcome. All I know is that I am DYING to know what happens in the next part. I have so many theories running through my head….some that are good and some that are scaring me.

As far as the characters go in this story, I have to say I loved them all. Yes there is that one character I hated, but she was such a small blip in this story that it really didn’t phase me. Kason and Adaline were fantastic main characters. I loved their passion and drive. This story was so well written you couldn’t help but feel everything they felt. I felt their happiness, the sorrow, the anguish and of course their heartache. I can’t wait to see what Ms. Blair has in store for these two characters.

I would recommend this book to everyone who likes a Mature YA novel, that is about first love and overcoming addictions and demons that you won’t expect.

This is such a well written story!!! Well done Ms. Blair!!!
