We’re so excited to reveal the cover for WITHIN THESE WALLS by J.L. Berg, which releases August 18th!

WTW iBooks

Within these walls, he became my solace, my sanctuary and my strength.

I am not strong. I am just a survivor of circumstance.

Isn’t that what we all do? Survive?

Each of us has our own set of circumstances to muddle through. Mine are just more…complicated.

Born with a severe heart defect, I’ve seen the inside of a hospital room more than my own bedroom.

I was drowning, a prisoner to the illness that owned me, until he appeared. He thinks he’s blocked out the world with his tattoos and hard exterior, but I see the real Jude, the one he so desperately wants to forget.

But is he the answer to my prayers or will he break my already damaged heart forever?

My name is Lailah Buchanan, and this is our story of hope, redemption and sacrificing it all for the one you love.

Within these walls he became my solace, my sanctuary and my strength.

Like a white knight, he saved me from a life of gray and showed me a world full of color.

Within these walls, I gave myself to a man who said he would always fight for me.

Love me until the end of time.

But sometimes, not even love is enough when life gets in the way.

When your heart is already damaged beyond repair, what is there left to break?

Within these walls, I gave my less than perfect heart to the man I loved.

And then…he walked away.

“Lena, you seen my old black Led Zep shirt?”

“You sure?” His brows became one dark cranky line. The scratches on his face were healing well, thank goodness. Though it didn’t reduce my desire to throttle his mother on a daily basis.

“Yes. I haven’t seen it.”

Can’t find it anywhere…”

“And this is a surprise, how?” I slipped my hands into my back jean’s pockets. “Jimmy, you own more clothing than Cher, Brittney, and Elvis, put together. Things are bound to go missing.”

“Sure you haven’t seen it?”

“For goodness sake, what do you think, Jimmy? That I stole it to sleep in or something?” I laughed bitterly. Sure as hell, the truth deserved a good mocking. I’d sunk so despicably low.

I hadn’t even meant to steal the stupid thing, but the shirt had been mixed up with my laundry a few days ago. It’d been the first top I laid my hand on after stepping out of the shower, ready to go to bed. Without thought, I’d put it on and it’d been so soft, the scent of him lingering beneath the laundry detergent. Every night since, I’d found myself in it come bedtime. My shame knew no limits. And no, I still hadn’t quit. The words still hadn’t come even close to leaving my mouth.

He frowned. “No.”

“That I have some deep secret longing to feel close to you resulting in my stealing your shirt like
some creepy perv?”

“Course I don’t fucking think that,” he replied crankily, reaching up to grip the top of the doorframe. All of his bulging muscles stretched the arms of his white T-shirt in the nicest way. It was all I could do not to start drooling, my heart beat taking up residence somewhere down between my thighs. And who could blame it? Not me. Maybe if I got laid, this would go away and things would return to normal. It’d seemed safer to avoid rubbing up against any men just in case I got carried away and started dating again. This new situation, however, changed everything.

“Well, of course not! That would be crazy.” And wasn’t that the god’s honest truth? Cray-zeee. Lock me up and throw away the key because it wasn’t like I didn’t know better.

“Just can’t figure out where the hell it could be.”

Angels couldn’t have smiled as innocently. They might have tried, but they would have failed, the dirty-mouthed, winged, little liars. “Jimmy, I don’t know where it is. But I’ll look around for it later, okay?”

“Yeah,” he said, and then added as an afterthought, “and stop looking at me weird.”

“I’m not!”

If you are looking for a book with intrigue, suspense, mystery, romance, sexy scenes and a whole lot of love….then this is the book for you!!!!

This book blew my mind!!!  Beautifully Forgotten is the second book following Beautifully Damaged by L. A. Fiore.  I absolutely LOVED Beautifully Damaged and was extremely excited to find out that there was going to be another book to this series.  Let me tell you she didn’t not disappoint….this book was beyond AMAZING (In my opinion)  I thought the writing was fantastic and flawless.  The author made me feel what all the characters were feeling, it was like I was sucked right into their world.  I laughed with them, cried with them, blushed with them, and felt the unending love that they felt for each other.  This book has many different POV’s to it, and I have to say I loved that.  It was great getting into everyones head and know what they were all thinking.  I didn’t find it to be confusing at all.  She also told the story switching between past and present time. (This was in the first half of the book).  I thought the transitions between the past and present were smooth and flowed well.  The pace of the book was great…I had such a hard time putting this book down and I couldn’t seem to read it fast enough.  This book is definitely a page-turner!!!!  This book is stocked full of mystery and suspense.  Just when you think you have this book figured out, the author throws another loop into the mix.  She kept me guessing all the way until the last page.

Even though this book is about another couple and some would say it was a stand alone…I really don’t think it is.  I would definitely recommend that you read Beautifully Damaged first because there is so much that is interconnected between the two books and the characters.  The only thing I wish I would’ve done differently was, I wish I would’ve read the newer version of Book 1 because it would’ve refreshed my memory and also I would’ve seen the revision she had made to the story and some of the characters.  It isn’t required to read the newly revised version of book 1, it’s just something I wished I would’ve done.  You definitely won’t get lost without the reread, the author fills in the blanks pretty well.

I don’t plan on talking about the plot or storyline at all in this review, because anything I say would be a spoiler for either book 1 or this book.  You really just need to read these books and meet all the characters.  We do see all the characters from book 1 in this book.  This book truly is a continuation of the story in book 1 but the focus was on Lucien and Darcy.  We do see where Trace and Ember end up and how their story is wrapped up.  But we also get to see Lucien and Darcy reconnect and watch their love continue to grow.

So if you are a fan of a great second chance love story, that has steam, suspense and mystery, that will keep you turning the page…..then you NEED to read this book!!!!

This book is 100% Book B!tch Approved!!!!! 🙂

Lucien watched as Darcy struggled to get the printer working. Even from his distance he could hear the cursing, which made him smile. It had been a week since their relationship had taken a very pleasant turn. She was still just as feisty as he remembered and it wasn’t hard for him to recall why he had fallen for her in the first place. Their sparring was verbal foreplay and he fucking craved it. His eyes moved over her. Her body was nothing like the one he had known, with curves that his hands itched to touch. Her hair was up, though he preferred it down, and tendrils were falling out of the twist. He remembered vividly the sight of it spread out over his pillow.

He had to admit that she was still just as interesting to him as she had been at fourteen. Despite everything, she was still his Darcy—sweet, witty, and guileless, except at the moment. She looked about ready to torch the printer, so he moved to help her. As he approached, she was actually staring into the paper tray, yelling at the creatures that lived inside it.

He chuckled, which must have taken her by surprise, because she leaped backward and landed on his foot.

“Fuck!” he cursed.

He looked down at her strappy sandals with heels high enough to stake a vampire and had a vision of those legs draped over his shoulders. Instantly, he was hard.

“I was going to offer to help you. The printer can be temperamental, but now I’m bleeding out from a stab wound.”

She didn’t miss a beat. “It probably didn’t even break the skin. What is it you guys say? Rub some dirt into it.”

He eyed her shoes. “Those things should be listed as lethal weapons.”

“Hardly. There are far cheaper ways to kill someone.” She bent to stare into the printer again and Lucien took the opportunity to check out the curve of her ass in the little black skirt she wore.

“Stop checking out my ass and help me.”

Not at all repentant for getting caught staring, he replied easily, “It’s a paper jam.”

He thought he was being helpful and when she straightened slowly, he entertained the notion that she was struggling with the need to throw herself into his arms in gratitude.

One look at her face, though, and he knew he wasn’t going to be copping a feel.

“Your powers of deduction are astounding. Seriously, you should give a seminar on mastering the obvious.”

He tried not to laugh, but he lost that battle. And she responded by flaying a layer of skin off him with her sharp tongue.

“I know it’s a paper jam, Sherlock, I just can’t find it.”

“It’s usually in the back,” Lucien said as he reached for the back of the printer, his arm brushing up against her on purpose. Darcy’s inhaled breath in response had his balls tightening. He dislodged the paper and pulled it free.

He turned to her with a smug smile, which she returned with uncanny accuracy before she said, “Thanks. I almost lost my cool.”

A slight smile touched her lips. “I should go restart my print job.”

“Probably, unless you can get the little men in the printer to do it.”

She laughed. “Not the baked goods, the little mischievous mystical creatures.”

“They live in my printer?”

“Maybe.” She started away, but stopped and turned to him.“Thanks.”

“Have dinner with me tonight.”

She eyed him through her lashes before she said, “You’re on.”

And then she turned and disappeared into her office.

Have you ever decided to read a book expecting one thing but once you dive in and read the book you get something complete different?

Well that is what happened to me with this book.  I will admit that the title of the book is what initially drew me to this book.  I went in expecting it to be a book that was all a bunch of sex scenes and maybe a small storyline plot to keep the reader interested.  What I got was so much more!!!!

This book was a fun, sexy read that had me chomping at the bit for more.  I didn’t want to put this book down and I couldn’t read fast enough.  I thought the storyline was well developed and written extremely well.  This book had me smiling, chuckling, and of course blushing 😉  If you are looking for a book that is different from other books out there on the market, then this is the one for you!!!  This book was so original and different.  This is definitely one of my FAVORITE reads of 2014 🙂  I loved how this book was presented to us the reader…it was so different from all the books out there.  I can’t say much, but you are going to want to read this book!!!

“I’m not a prude.  I’ve tried to be for the last ten years because I was afraid of what I would become if I didn’t control it.” … Lucy (aka Lotus Raine)

Lucy and Brent were great characters.  I thought they were both relatable and very likable.  I loved the chemistry that they had between them, but I also loved the friendship and companionship that they built throughout this story.  Both Lucy and Brent came from a messed up parent.  But they didn’t let them bring them down.  Both of these characters knew they would do whatever they had to, to not turn out like the bad parent they had.

Lucy had a mother who put stripping and men before her.  She learned some things at a young age that she shouldn’t have learned until much older thanks to her whoring mother.  Lucy was determined to not be like her mom, so she sheltered herself off and turn anything that had to do with sex away.  That is until she meets a stranger in a bar and decides to let loose.  Little did she know that meeting Brent would change her life in the best way possible.  I loved how strong Lucy was, yes she took some crap but she also knew how to give it right back.

Brent…..what can I say….He was AMAZING!!!! He was sweet and caring, but also knew how to melt a girls panties with his dirty mouth, among other things 😉  I loved that we got to see more of the person Brent really was and that him being a porn star didn’t define who he is.  He always looked at it as a job, but he was so much more then that.   I also loved how he did whatever he had to, to help bring Lucy out of her shell.  These two just really worked well together.

I would 100% recommend this book to anyone looking for a unique, fun, sweet and sexy read!!!  This will definitely bring a person out of a book funk and show you something different.  I know some of you might be worried about if there is cheating in this story…don’t worry there is NO CHEATING what so ever!!!  This is a MUST READ!!!!

His Reverie

iBooks | Kobo | Barnes & NobleAmazon

I knew from the moment I first saw her she was the one. The only girl I could ever want.

The only girl I could ever love.

She is light.

I am darkness.

She is innocent.

I’ve done too much.

She is good.

I am bad.

She is my every dream.

I should be her every nightmare.

We come from different worlds. She’s…perfect. And I’m…

Somehow she wants me anyway. So we’ll grasp at what we can. We’re going to make this summer count. She’s my secret. And I’m hers.

The problem with secrets is they never last for long. And when others discover we’re together, they’ll do whatever it takes to keep us apart. All I know is: I won’t let them.

Because Reverie Hale? She’s mine.

I jump at the sound of a soft female voice, my hand jerking so the hose splashes me right in the face. Muttering a curse, I drop the hose and reach out blindly, wrenching the faucet off with one hand as I swipe at my eyes with the back of the other. I hear the girl laugh and I whirl around, fully prepared to find some bratty preteen Hale daughter mocking me.

But she’s not a preteen. Not even close. More like around my age. She’s tall and slender, her long blonde hair falling far past bared tan shoulders. She’s wearing some sort of sundress or whatever you call it and she’s pretty much covered since it hits just above her knees though her arms are exposed since the dress is sleeveless. The sun catches her just right though, shining through the thin fabric of her skirt so I can see through it.

My gaze drops and all I can see is long, long legs through the shadowy fabric. Damn. Those sexy legs are endless. She clears her throat, like she knows exactly where I’m looking and what I’m thinking and I jerk my gaze up guiltily to meet hers, feeling like a jackass.

That’s when I notice her eyes are blue. As blue as the sky above us, and she’s so damn pretty, with delicate features and pink, pink lips, that I can’t seem to form words.

“Who are you?” she asks curiously. Her voice washes over me, sweet and melodic and now it’s my turn to clear my throat to get the lump out so I can freaking speak.

“Who are you?” I ask back like an idiot.

She smiles shyly and my entire body reacts, a bolt of electricity seeming to go through me. “I asked first.”

“Are you Hale’s daughter?” If she is, that sucks because holy hell she’s hot but yeah.

She’s completely untouchable if she’s a Hale.

Illicit Contact is the second part of the Shatterproof series. I was hooked in Privacy code (the first part) by Watts and Catherine’s story, and jumped almost immediately into Illicit Contact, in hopes of getting more info on Watts. And I did!!!! Still love Watts, too J But, I still have Naked Risk to go and the ending of Illicit Contact makes me nervous. Please let this series end in a HEA!!!

“The way I saw it, I had three options: One, break things off with her; two, tell her everything and make her aware of who she had become involved with; three, go on like we had been and not tell her anything.”

Illicit Contact continues Catherine and Watts’ story after they decide to take their email relationship to the next level. The HOT level!!! And believe me when I say that the HEAT level does not come down a bit in this story. But, pasts finally come out and decisions have to be made about where they will go from here. And in my opinion, Catherine made the right choice. But, there is so much more to come!!

“I wanted so badly to know what it was about Watts’s life that necessitated his cloak of privacy.”

I am thoroughly enjoying where this story is going and actually like that it is broken down into three parts. It’s crazy but I feel so accomplished thinking that I am almost done with three different books 😉

Just like, Privacy Code, this one also comes highly recommended, but you have to read Privacy Code first 🙂

If your are looking for that light beach read that has witty banter, some steamy scenes, and a lovable 3 year old boy….then this is the book for you.  I have read many books by Chelsea Cameron and I have to say that I thought this book was different from her other books.  I enjoyed this book, but not as much as her other books.  I thought this was an interesting story about being a writer and what their lives are like.  I loved that she created characters who were relatable and easy to connect to.  The only thing I really wish this book would’ve had was a little more drama or angst.  This story really was drama free.  There is a small (I mean really small) blip towards the end but it was over just as quick as it started.  The storyline started off really strong, but somewhere around 55% the story started to drag on and went in a different direction.  I think the story between Blair and Declan could’ve been developed a little more.  At about that same point in the book we lost sight of Declan for a while.  I was really happy with how the story ended but I think it was kind of abrupt and rushed a little bit.  You’ll understand more once you read the book.

As for the characters…I loved that Chelsea created a heroine who was different.  She was a person who loved tattoos and refused to live a life that her parents dictated for her.  Blair was also a librarian, who worked in the children’s section.  She was so down to earth and relatable.  I could totally see her being someone I would be friends with.  Declan…..he was a sweet and lovable Brit!!!!  I loved how he talked to Blair.  I could totally hear his accent in my head when I was reading his parts (I know that makes me sound a little crazy…lol)  He was such a wonderful father to Drake.  What I had to keep reminding myself about with these two, was that they were only 22 (Declan) and 23 (Blair).  The way they spoke and behaved, you would totally think they were much older.  They definitely didn’t act like your typical NA characters.

Like I said, if you are looking for that NA love story with very little drama and a sweet love story and an adorable 3 year old boy….then I would recommend this book!!!  If you are a fan of Chelsea M Cameron’s, then I think you should pick this one up as well.  Just know that it is different from her other books.

Found in Us is the second book in Layla Hagen’s Lost series.  Lost in Us was book 1 and I really enjoyed that book.  This book was no different!!!  I really enjoyed this book as well.  I was excited to find out we were getting Jessica and Parker’s story at the end of book 1.  I just knew they would have an interesting story to tell (and boy was I right)  I will warn you that this book was way HOTTER then I remember book 1 being, so if you aren’t comfortable with that type of book, then this might not be the right fit for you.  Let me just say that Parker really pushes some of Jessica’s boundaries 😉  As with book 1 I thought the flow and pace of this book was great.  The storyline was filled with intrigue and secrets, so it kept your attention all the way through.  I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough….I wanted to know everything about these two characters.  What I loved more about this book was that we got to see Parker’s POV.  The story is primarily in Jessica’s POV, but the author did throw in there many chapters of Parker’s POV.!!!  It was great being in his head.

This book was more than just a love story.  It was a story about 2 people trying to find love, trust and overall redemption.  Both Jessica and Parker come from troubled pasts and neither of them felt they deserved to be loved.  I will say that after finding out their secrets and the troubles of their past, that they were actually pretty similar in nature, but how these two dealt with it was totally different and is what made these two characters so different.  Jessica felt she needed to be the “good girl” to find the redemption she thought she needed.  Parker was truly driven by guilt and forced himself to become the “good boy” even though it didn’t make him truly happy.  I don’t want to say more about the story because I don’t write spoiler reviews.  Just know that you need to read Jessica and Parker’s story.  They truly are a great couple together and prove that opposites truly do attract.  I loved both of these characters equally, they were fun, loving, swoony and spicy :)..Now don’t get me wrong they both made me mad at times, but you could really feel their connection to each other.  I loved watching them grow into a trusting and loving couple!!!

As for other characters in the story….there really weren’t any.  This story really did focus on Jessica and Parker.  We did get to know Dani (James’s Sister and Jessica’s roommate in London) better.  We got to see a little bit into her life, although the author did leave just enough mystery and question there, for us to be waiting for the 3rd book to be released, which is Dani’s story!!!  I was also thrilled to stay in touch with Serena and James.  We got to see what is happening with them after their story ended.

I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a love story that is over all intriguing, fun, quite steamy, and a sweet read.  This was a great addition to the Lost Series.  Even though it is part of a series, it really can be read as a standalone.  This is a complete story with NO Cliffhanger 🙂

When she fell in love with another man before Tanner had the chance to tell her how he felt, he was left with no resolve to find love again. Burying himself in school and easy girls has become his new lifestyle, but when Kellee Brooks shows up at his favorite bar, he begins to think there may be another verse to his song, after all.

Kellee Brooks moved to New York City for one thing: escape. Growing up in a small town where her entire life was planned out for her, she’s desperate to break free and find herself without following the same path as her mom. Kellee thought working at the local dive bar would mean more money for school, but when she meets the smoldering, scarred honey eyes of Tanner West, she finds there’s much more hiding in the smoky building than just a few tips.

With Paisley still haunting Tanner and Kellee vowing to save anyone the trouble of loving her, will the pain and fear keep them apart – or will they find a way to rewrite their song together?

Break free with this heartbreaking story of letting go and letting love in.

~~ 5 “I pick U” Stars ~~

Song Chaser is the second book in Kandi Steiner’s Chaser’s series, but can be read as a standalone.  This is the second book I have read of Kandi’s and I have to say this book was so WONDERFUL!!!  I liked this book even more then Tag Chaser (Book 1).  What I loved was seeing how Kandi’s writing grew in this book compared to the first book.  The story and characters were well developed and pulled at my heartstrings a couple different times.  I thought the storyline was an interesting one and it kept me intrigued all the way through.  I honestly didn’t want to put this book down!!!  I totally felt a connection to the characters in this story.  When they were happy, I was smiling, when they we sad, I had tears in my eyes and yes there were a couple times that I wanted to throw my kindle and smack Tanner upside the head…lol.  Overall this is very pleasant read without a huge amount of drama.  Don’t get me wrong Tanner and Kellee have their ups and downs in this story, but they are brought on solely by themselves.  They were each others worst enemies.  I did end up with a HUGE smile on my face by the end of this book.

Tanner and Kellee were amazing characters.  What I liked the most was they weren’t the typical broken characters we see a lot these days in college aged books.  Yes they had their issues, but nothing traumatic has happened to them to make them this way.  These two were perfect for each other.  I loved how they kept saying that they saved each other.  The biggest problem these two had were being able to openly communicate with each other, which of course lead to the issues in their relationship.  Tanner was swoon worthy, but I will say I wanted to smack him.  The way he clung to his past started to really piss me off, but I am glad to see that he finally woke up and saw what was right in front of him.  Kellee was a strong female character.  Her biggest problem was taking her mother leaving her family as a bad thing and causing her to have serious trust issues.  I was glad to see Tanner made her see things in a different light!!!  These two had amazing chemistry and I loved their banter.  I was laughing out loud on many occasions.

All of the secondary characters were great too.  They all were great support systems for both Tanner and Kellee, but they also had no problem telling them when they were being dumb.  I have to say that Kandi has a great ability of creating secondary characters that I like almost as much as the main characters.

I would definitely recommend this book to everyone!!!  It was a fun and sexy read with little drama.  You don’t necessarily have to read Tag Chaser first, but I would suggest it, because you get to know Paisley and Corbin, but you also meet Tanner in that book as well.  There is a lot of back story there.  Although Kandi does a wonderful job filling in the blanks between Tanner and Paisley.  This is for sure a book I will read again in the future.

My heart feels like it’s about to beat right out of my chest. Tanner is looking at me like he’s not good enough to touch me and like he can’t keep his fucking hands off me all at the same time. I inhale deep, my breath shaky as I try to find the words to say. I want to talk about it more – about what she is to him, about when she’s coming and what I’m going to have to deal with – but right now all I can think about is how his hands feel on my waist, and how I wish he would touch every inch of my body with those hands.

“Kiss me,” I breathe.

Tanner doesn’t waste another second. His lips find mine, soft and gentle at first, but then a fire consumes us both and I’m biting his neck as he lifts me from my chair. He kisses down my collarbone and then back up to my ear, sending chills cascading down my arms and legs. I moan softly, running my fingers through his hair and tugging a little as I pull his lips back to mine. He slides his tongue between my lips and takes my mouth, deepening the kiss as his hands explore my body.

“How long until dinner?” he pants between kisses.

“Maybe twenty minutes.”

“That’ll do,” he replies, carrying me to the couch.

Tanner’s hands are hungry as he positions himself on top of me, pulling the straps of my tank top down to kiss my shoulders. He nips and sucks softly, trailing a line from my shoulders, to my neck, across my collar bone, and back again. Slowly, he kisses a little lower, sucking at the swell just above the hem of my top. I inhale sharply, my fingers gripping his hair.

“You taste so sweet,” he mumbles against my skin, lighting it on fire. He lifts my shirt and slowly kisses down my stomach, stopping just above the hem of my shorts. He blazes a trail of fire with his tongue from one hip to the other, working the buttons and zipper until he has my shorts loose enough to pull down my shaking legs and throw across the room. He smiles up at me, his sexy half grin silently killing me, and then he completely takes my breath away – because he pulls my panties off with his teeth.

With. His. Teeth.

Suddenly, my heart is beating in my throat. I’m not a virgin, but I’m definitely no where near as experienced as Tanner, no matter how cocky my façade may be. My legs are shaking uncontrollably and I feel it start to move up to my hands. Tanner stops kissing my thighs and looks up at me, concern laden on his face.

“Are you okay?” he asks, moving to position himself on top of me again. He brushes the hair from my face and pulls my shaking hand to his lips, kissing my fingers softly as he waits for me to reply.

I nod, though not confidently. “I hate admitting this to you, but I’m not that experienced.”

He smiles devilishly, his eyes lighting the fire in my stomach again. “You think I don’t know that? Why do you think I’m going so slow?”

I let out of a puff of air, “This is slow?”

His grin grows wider, “Trust me – if I had it my way, your ankles would have been on my shoulders the first night I saw you.”

Who inspired you to start writing?

My mom, definitely. She’s actually very into reading like I am and is a great writer herself. I hope to one day convince her to write a novel, too. She inspired me when I was very young and encouraged me to pursue my love of writing, no matter what. Everything I’ve written from awful love poems in high school (yuck!) to decent pieces in college, she has always been there for me.

Why romance?

Great question! I have no idea. I always pictured myself writing non-fiction or nothing at all, but one of my final capstone courses in college was an advanced fiction course that really turned me on to the possibilities of creating a story. Why romance specifically? Well, we could blame it on my husband for showing me love so early in life, but it’s probably more Disney’s fault than anyone else’s. I’m a girl, I love to love, what could be better than romance writing?

How do you write your novels?

Sporadically and without any structure at all. Sometimes I’ll be driving and I’ll whip out my phone and record something to write down later. Sometimes I’ll write a scene and sometimes I’ll just write about my character to get to know them better. Eventually, I sit down and map everything out so that I don’t forget anything (blonde moments are a habit for me) and then I slowly start piecing it all together. It makes sense to me, but if I told any of my professors this they might kill me lol.

When did you know you wanted to write a novel?

Honestly, it hit me out of the blue. I got the idea for Tag Chaser when I was in the shower and I just couldn’t shake it. I was dreaming about the characters, writing random scenes in my head, and just thinking about them constantly. I decided it was a sign to stop being so scared of failure and just write it. The way I see it, the worst thing that could happen is no one likes it – and in that case it will still be loved by me and that’s what matters.

Why should readers pick up Tag Chaser?

Tag Chaser is a unique story that I think hasn’t been told yet. Often times we fall in love with characters who are so perfect, either individually or for each other. Tag Chaser is about exploring our imperfections and learning not to fight that chemistry that sometimes we just feel, whether it’s easy or not. I think anyone who reads Tag Chaser will laugh and love, and those are both two very beautiful things.

Kandi Steiner is a Creative Writing and Advertising/Public Relations graduate from the University of Central Florida living in Tampa with her husband. Kandi works full time as a social media specialist, but also works part time as a Zumba fitness instructor and blackjack dealer.

Kandi started writing back in the 4th grade after reading the first Harry Potter installment. In 6th grade, she wrote and edited her own newspaper and distributed to her classmates. Eventually, the principal caught on and the newspaper was quickly halted, though Kandi tried fighting for her “freedom of press.” She took particular interest in writing romance after college, as she has always been a die hard hopeless romantic (like most girls brought up on Disney movies).

When Kandi isn’t working or writing, you can find her reading books of all kinds, talking with her extremely vocal cat, and spending time with her friends and family. She enjoys beach days, movie marathons, live music, craft beer and sweet wine – not necessarily in that order.
