No sex outside of the game.
No disclosing the terms of the contract.
Rules were made to be broken, right?
Eight weeks ago I signed a contract. One that seemed like a good idea at the time. A handsome bachelor, luxury accommodations, and a chance to win a prize my family desperately needed. There were some rules though. Lots of them actually. Follow the script, no dating, sex, or disclosing the terms of the deal. After my self-imposed moratorium on men the last year, it wouldn’t be hard to live up to my end of the bargain…so I thought. Until I realized the deal I’d made was with the devil…and I was in love with his dirty-talking brother.
Every girl needs three things
- A flutter in her belly when she meets him for the first time.
My lips brush the top of her hand lightly, my tongue sneaking out to fleetingly touch her skin. The brief contact stirs an ache inside me. This woman tugs at something—more than arousal—something that makes me want to slow down time just to spend a few more minutes standing here.
“Did you just…” she stammers a bit.
“Did I just what?”
She squints at me. “You know.”
“I felt your tongue on my hand. You…you licked me.”
I’d been dying to run my tongue along her neck all evening, although I hadn’t really meant to be so crude about it. It just sort of …happened. “I wouldn’t say licked, maybe just a little taste.”
“So you tasted me?”
My entire body suddenly has interest in this conversation. “I suppose I did. But it wasn’t nearly enough. That brings us back to my invitation for dinner. Tomorrow night?”
“The day after then?”
She laughs and shakes her head. The sound makes me smile.
“Good night, Cooper.” She pulls the driver’s side door shut and leaves me standing there…for a full five minutes after she’s gone.
- A best friend to talk about him to.
“And I kissed him when we were in his office.”
“How was his office?”
“Really? That’s what you want to know. Not how was the kiss or aren’t you in breach of your contract? How was his office?”
“You can tell a lot about a man by his office.”
I gulp another unladylike sip from my wine glass. “His office was beautiful. Sleek, overlooking the city. It oozed power.”
“Nice. Bet he fucks like he owns you.”
The thought of what he’s like in bed is enough to make me lose my train of thought.
“Go on,” Sadie prods.
I don’t continue immediately.
“You forgot what you were up to because you were thinking of him fucking you like he owns you, didn’t you?” My best friend smirks knowingly.
“Shut up.” I pause. “Anyway, I don’t know what I’m going to do.”
“Well, him. Obviously.”
“I wish it were that easy.”
- A gentleman that turns into a bossy dirty talker in the bedroom.
Cooper – behind closed doors.
“You haven’t even begun to see bossy yet. Tonight I’m going to tell you to do things, and you’re going to do them. When I tell you to open wider, or take my cock deeper, you’re going to listen. You know why? Because since the moment we met, all I’ve wanted to do is make you feel good. Hell, I don’t even need to get off physically. Because I’m going to get off watching you every minute. So, yeah, I’m going to be bossy. Now let’s put the rest of this behind us. Do you want to be with me tonight?”
After that prelude, I nod my head fast. I’m no fool. Who wouldn’t?

~ 4 Stars ~
Let me start off by saying that I absolutely LOVE Vi Keeland’s books, but I have to say this one wasn’t my favorite. I did enjoy this book and think it was an interesting storyline, but I have to be honest I saw this storyline going a different direction when I read the blurb.
Let me start by stating everything I liked about this book. I truly enjoyed the unique storyline. I thought this book was a fun, flirty and sexy read. I love Ms. Keeland’s writing style. She knows how to keep her readers interested from the beginning to the end. Her books flow so effortlessly that her books seem to fly by and never drag!!! She also has a great knack for creating relatable and lovable characters. Yes she has those characters that you also hate, but the ones you love sink into your heart and stay there. This book and characters were no different. And I am so looking forward to the next book in this series. I know I just said series but this book is a complete standalone and has a Happy Ending. There is no cliffhanger!!! You will want to read this book before going into the next one in the series, because we get to know the main character of the next book quite a bit in this book. She actually did a great way of setting up the next book, but you will need to read this book to find out how!!!
Ok…so now to what didn’t work for me in this book. There is really only ONE thing I didn’t like and that it turned out to be a Love Triangle. It’s a different twist on a love triangle and I would say it’s not the typical love triangle, but it was one none the less. One of my hard limits when it comes to books is a triangle, and thats because usually one of the characters drives me crazy because they are so indecisive.
In this book it was Kate who drove me crazy at times. I don’t want to give too much away, but the premise of the book is that Kate signs up to be on a reality tv show like the Bachelor. So she is there to meet a man and fall in love. But Kate’s true motives for the going on the show are completely different and for personal reasons. There is a cash prize for the contestants who make the top 4 and then a bigger one for the winner. Kate needs the money and is determined to make it that far. What she didn’t expect was to meet Cooper at the same time. What bugged me here was that her a Cooper spark up a courtship per say and both have growing feelings for each other. But one stipulation to the contract she signed was obviously NO dating outside the show, so she is forced to keep her and Cooper a secret. This is where I had trouble with the story, because Kate was strong in pointing out that she was on the show for the money and really liked Cooper but when she was with Flynn (The Bachelor) we would see her thoughts and she was feeling something for him too. That’s were things turned into a triangle and Kate started driving me crazy. I am not going to say anything more or how things turn out. Just that I was happy with the ending, even though I did think it was a little rushed and some things were skipped over. There was one conversation/scene that I would’ve loved to read about, but it wasn’t in the book, but was made reference to towards the end.
So back to the positives…..Overall I did really like Kate but I LOVED Cooper. He was amazing!!!! He was the perfect mix of Alpha Male and caring protector. And boy did that man have a dirty mouth too…..he sure knows how to melt a pair of panties 😉
I thought this was a fun and sexy read, that gave us an inside look at the behind the scenes of shows like the Bachelor and Survivor. Some of the things in this book really made me wonder if they happened on the real shows.
I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a fun and sexy read that is based loosely around the tv show The Bachelor. This was also a quick read. If you aren’t a fan of love triangles, then in my opinion, this might not be the book for you, but this is only my opinion and many of you may see this story completely different. Like I said I did really enjoy this book and the unique storyline. I will definitely continue to read more books by Vi Keeland and the other books in this series.
Vi Keeland is a native New Yorker with three children that occupy most of her free time, which she complains about often, but wouldn’t change for the world. She is a bookworm and has been known to read her kindle at stop lights, while styling her hair, cleaning, walking, during sporting events, and frequently while pretending to work. She is a boring attorney by day, and an exciting smut author by night!
