When Liv Bennett said good-bye to her sinkhole of a hometown, she planned to leave that chapter of her life behind forever. But forever turned out to only be three years.

After her addict of a mother up and disappears, Liv returns to what she considers her own personal hell smack in the middle of nowhere Nevada to take care of her two younger sisters, and she promptly reinstitutes the golden rule that got her through her first nineteen years of life without getting knocked up, roughed up, or messed up: don’t date the local boys and, god forbid, don’t fall in love with one of them.

It isn’t long before that golden rule is put to the test.

Will Goods grew up in the next trailer over, but the wild, careless boy who used to tear up the town with his three brothers has morphed into someone else so completely, he’s almost unrecognizable. The quiet, contemplative man who works on cars every night and takes care of his mentally ill mother every day is nothing like the local boys Liv grew up avoiding.

But when Liv considers suspending her golden rule just this once, she finds out something about Will that will change everything.

Will Goods isn’t who he used to be—he’s not even the man Liv thinks she’s gotten to know over the summer. He’s become someone else entirely.

He’s become . . .

Damaged Goods.

~~5 “Life is full of Choices” Stars ~~

If you are looking for a New Adult book that has an interesting storyline, an excellent cast of characters and steamy sexy scenes that are off the charts HOT….then look no further….Damaged Goods is the book to read.  If you only read one New Adult book this year, I truly believe this should be the book.  This was so much more then just a love story between two broken people….It was about learning to live your life to the fullest and that life is full of choices and only you can make them.  That everyone has the decision on which path their life should go.  It is also a story about learning to love and what a strong bond family truly is.

I have been a fan of Nicole Williams since reading her Crash series.   Then I thought she couldn’t beat her Lost and Found Series, but I was wrong.  Damaged Goods has put the rest to shame (Even though I still LOVE those other books).  She just keeps creating better characters and characters we want to love and know in real life as each book comes out.  This is the second book in her Outsider Chronicles Series, but can be read as a standalone.  The characters in this book are completely different from Hard Knox (Book 1) and those characters don’t make an appearance in this book.  Heck even the story lines are completely different.  What makes these two books similar are the fact that they are about college aged characters and that the characters are broken or some kind of outsider for whatever reason.  I loved this book!!!!  The storyline was interesting and intriguing enough that it kept me glued to this book until I was finished.  The flow and pace was great.  I also thought Nicole did a great job at developing the characters and their bond.  There is definitely no insta anything in this book.  Yes, Liv and Will are attracted to each other right from their first meeting,  but she definitely makes them work hard to get what they want.  From the synopsis we know Will has a secret that could change everything….well let me tell you I didn’t have a clue what it was and it took me by complete shock, but I LOVED that, because that meant this book wasn’t predictable 🙂

Will and Liv were AMAZING characters.  I truly loved them both.  Liv was unlike any other heroine I have read in a long time….she didn’t annoy me at all and I didn’t roll my eyes at her once.  She was self sufficient, strong, brave, loyal, and down right snarky, but she had a heart of gold…once she was willing to open up to people.  She didn’t have the best upbringing or the best mom (Kitty was MIA) but she made the best of it and was determined to get out of Nevada and make something of her life, that is until her sisters call saying their mom was gone and they needed help.  To show what a great heart Liv had, she dropped everything and moved back to the one place she said she never go back to, to be with her sisters and even took a job she didn’t want too just to help them survive.  Liv lived by a couple rules in her life, but the main one was not to fall for a local boy, because she believed they would just trap her and she be stuck in her own version of h*ll on earth.  That was until she met Will Goods…the next door neighbor.  She knew Will from when she was younger, but like everyone else in this town, he got out as soon as he could.  But for reasons I am not going to divulge, Will comes home to live and take care of his sick mother.  Will Goods…..OMG!!!  What an AMAZING Hero.  He was so sweet and loving and loyal to a fault.  What happened to him (to make him the broken soul he was) was terrible and my heart broke, but Will didn’t let it bring him down.  He learned to accept his current situation and made the best of it.  Let me tell you he also knows how to melt a girls panties 😉  You definitely want to meet Will.

This was also a book that I loved all the additional characters we met in the story.  Paige and Reese (Liv’s sisters), Jake (Liv’s Boss and Will’s friend) and even Cherry (Liv’s friend from work) were great.  They each added a special something to this story.  I am hoping that maybe someday we will get a book about Paige and Reese.

If you are a fan of Nicole Williams or even just a fan of New Adult books….This is one you won’t want to miss!!!!  I 100% recommend this book 🙂

I’m the New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author of the CRASH series (HarperTeen, S&S UK), LOST & FOUND series, UP IN FLAMES (S&S UK), The EDEN TRILOGY, and a handful of others. I write stories about everyday kinds of people who find themselves in extraordinary kinds of situations. I tell love stories with happy endings because I believe in making the world a better place, and that’s one tiny way I can make it so. I’m one of those people who still believe in true love and soul mates, and would rather keep my head in the clouds any day over having my feet firmly on the ground.
