~ 5 Stars ~
Xavier Cold is the much anticipated conclusion of Anna and Xavier’s love story. This book is NOT a standalone. Phenomenal X must be read first to understand this book.
This book takes off right where book 1 ends. Xavier Cold is told in Dual POV and I was so happy to see that. We still get more of Anna’s POV but we got so much more of Xavier’s!! That was the one thing I was missing from book 1. I wanted to know what Xavier was thinking and feeling and we finally get into his head more in this book.
I don’t want to give to much of the storyline away, but I will say that it is not an easy road for Anna and Xavier to their HEA. Xavier is still fighting some pretty big demons from his past in this book and then something from his past comes back to haunt him in the present. It really takes some serious time for Xavier to fully open up and trust Anna, so that causes some tension between these two characters. I did love the growth of these characters as the story progressed. I loved Anna and Xavier after reading the first book, but they are definitely engrained into my heart after finishing their journey with them.
We do still get to see all the other side characters from the first book. I still love Nettie and Carl, I think they are great people and good for Xavier. I thought Quinn was also a strong force for Anna, she helped her through some tough spots. We also see Rex and Deena and I truly could’ve lived without them….yep, still don’t like them!!! We do get to see some more of the people from Anna’s life. I loved watching the growth there and seeing how things turned out for Anna and her family.
I still stand by my original statement after reading the first book, this is some of Michelle’s best writing. This story is both compelling and emotional. She had me laughing, crying, blushing and yelling all while not letting me put this book down. It is told at a great pace, nothing was rushed but nothing dragged on too long either. She also put in a few things that took me completely by surprise.
I would definitely recommend Anna and Xavier’s story to everyone!! I think these are two characters people should meet. And if you are a fan of Michelle’s books, you are going to want to One-Click this book ASAP!!!!
