After 8 years of waiting…he’s got 1 month to make her his.
wedding—but their own.
~ 3.5 Stars ~
I find myself in the same position I did after reading the first book in this series, I am struggling with my thoughts and feelings of this book. I enjoyed this story but I didn’t love it.
I think the real reason this book wasn’t my favorite, is because I had trouble connecting with Alexis (h). I knew going into her book, she was going to be on the prickly side and her walls were going to be tough to bring down, but her’s were almost impossible to come down, which made me not like her much at all. Logan really saved this book for me. He had the patience of a saint!!!
As always, when I read a Lauren Layne book, I am fascinated by her writing and this book was no exception. I love her writing style. She has such a creative mind and I love that each of her books are so different from her others. I thought the flow of this story was well written, but I felt the pacing of the story dragged in parts, a lot because of Alexis stubborn behavior. This was the main reason this book was a 3.5 star read for me. I felt by Alexis being so stubborn, it made the ending feel rushed. What happens in the last couple chapters , is what I would’ve like to see sooner in the book.
To Love and To Cherish is a standalone novel in the Wedding Belles Series. It is the third and final book about these ladies. It is told in Dual POV, which is always my favorite. I feel all these books can be read in any order. We do see interconnected characters so past couples do come to play in the storyline, but Lauren does a great job filling the reader in when needed.
This book follows Alexis and Logan’s story. Alexis is the owner of the Belles wedding agency and kind of stuck in her own world. Logan is a silent partner for the agency, but also is secretly in love with Alexis. For the past eight years Logan has been Alexis’s accountant and has harbored feelings for her. Well the time has come and Logan is sick of waiting and wants to take their partnership to the next level. But will Alexis get out of her own head long enough to give Logan a chance?? Can Alexis get over the hurt of a bad break up from her past, to see that Logan is meant for her?? You’ll have to read this book to get those answers.
I would recommend this book and series to anyone who is a fan of Lauren Layne’s. Even though this isn’t my favorite series of hers, I think many people will love this series. Definitely worth the read.
Lauren Layne is the USA Today bestselling author of more than a dozen romantic comedies. She lives in New York City with her husband (who was her high school sweetheart–cute, right?!) and plus-sized Pomeranian.
In 2011, she ditched her corporate career in Seattle to pursue a full-time writing career in Manhattan, and never looked back.
In her ideal world, every stiletto-wearing, Kate Spade wielding woman would carry a Kindle stocked with Lauren Layne books.
