I Do, I Don’t – Book 2
Releasing Jan 30, 2018
For one charming playboy, getting cast on a Bachelor-esque reality TV show is the shock of a lifetime—until he finds love where he least expects it.
Gage Barrett’s reputation as a ladies’ man has been greatly exaggerated, but none of that matters after a drunken bet lands him on Jilted, a reality TV show that matches runaway grooms with wannabe brides. Now he’s stuck at a Hawaiian resort with nineteen women competing to drag him back to the altar—and one contestant who’s even more miserable than he is. Gage has no idea how feisty, independent Ellie Wright wound up in the cast, but it’s obvious she hates his guts. And if there’s one thing Gage likes, it’s a challenge. . . .
Ellie can’t believe she let her best friend talk her into exchanging her dignity for a glorified bikini contest. Still, she could use the exposure—her business is struggling—and she’ll probably be one of the first to get eliminated anyway. But Gage isn’t the shallow jerk Ellie anticipated—and he’s in no rush to send her home. As stolen kisses turn into secret trysts, she finds herself losing track of what’s real and what’s for the camera. With the wedding finale looming, this runaway groom is tempting Ellie to start believing in storybook

This book was exactly what I was looking for!!! Although I think I say that everytime I pick up a Lauren Layne book.
This story was so much fun to read and was such a feel good romance. The storyline was entertaining and the characters were so lovable!!!
If you are a fan of reality TV, especially The Bachelor, then you need to read this story. It is based off that show, but Lauren puts her own spin on it to make it her own. Plus I loved how she gave us an insider/behind the scenes look into what might happen on a show like this.
The Runaway Groom is the second novel in her I Do, I Don’t series. It is a complete standalone novel and is told in Dual POV. This book is in no way connected to the first book in this series, so they don’t have to be read in order. But I will say you will want to read this series. I have LOVED both of these books and would 100% recommend them to everyone. I think everyone will fall in love with this story. I think this is actually my favorite series of Lauren’s to date.
This story is based around the TV show Jilted and the runaway groom is famous actor Gage Barrett. He was placed on this show because he lost a bet with his best friend. The premise of the show is that he is to marry the woman he chooses in the end. Ellie is one of the woman vying for his attention, but she has no intention of making it to the end. She only agreed to apply for the show to help promote her new business. What neither of the expect is the feelings that overcome them when they get together. I absolutely loved Gage and Ellie together. Although there first meeting wasn’t conventional and they denied their attraction time and time again. Their banter and closet rendezvouses were what kept me interested to see what would happen.
I loved how well this story was written. Lauren books always make me feel good and leave a huge smile on my face!!! I thought this story flowed perfectly and the pace was spot on. I loved how Lauren kept us guessing how everything would turn out until the very end. made me want to turn the pages faster to see who Gage will choose 😉
So if you are looking for the movie star romance that is based in the world of reality TV, then you don’t want to miss this GEM!!! If Lauren Layne is a new author to you, this would be the perfect series/books to start this wonderful journey into her writing!!!
