Ride or Die, a hot new standalone romance by Terri E. Laine is now LIVE!!!

Piper’s no stranger to motorcycle clubs. She ran from that life several years ago and has no desire to go back. Only the life came looking for her in the form of a gorgeous, massive man they call Ender.

Ender is the cleanup guy. The guy who fixes sh#t when it’s broken. When he’s sent to retrieve the sexy hothead, he gets more than he’s bargained for.

She’s no wallflower and during her years away, she’s learned new skills making her lethal. But Ender is just as good at his job and he’ll get her back home, hog-tied if he has to.

There’s only one problem. The more time he spends with her road tripping across the country, the more he wants her in his bed. The patch that marks her as taken, however, belongs to another, his best friend and brother. And a man’s got to live by a code, one he can’t break.

She hates him for what he represents and his cold demeanor. But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t want one night to see if the man behind the mask lives up to his reputation. For her survival, she’s determined to break him and his code. It might be her only means of escape. And if she’s honest, the sooner she can get away the better because her heart is getting lost in him too.

~ 3.5 Lumberjack Stars ~

I have read many of Terri E Laine’s books and have loved all of them, but I am sad to say that is not the case with Ride or Die.

I liked that she gave us something different from her usual books. It was great to see her tackle an MC type story. She gave us a raw and gritty story. Which many readers come to expect from this type of story. There were just aspects of this story that I didn’t like, which made it hard for me to give it a higher rating.

I did enjoy the storyline she gave Piper. Piper, the heroine, is actually what I loved most about this book. She was an amazing heroine. She was strong, witty, and able to take care of herself. What didn’t work for me was the interaction she had with Ender for the majority of the book. I can’t say a lot without spoiling it for others, it was just that it made their union in the end seem forced or unbelievable.

I really didn’t like Ender much in this story. I know when you decide to read an MC story that the Hero is usually pretty raw and at times mean, but Ender was a lot over the top for me. There were some things he did (always in front of Piper) that I just didn’t like. If it had happened once that would’ve been ok, but it kept happening and by the end I was rolling my eyes and just couldn’t connect with him like I like to when reading a book.

This story is told in Dual 3rd person POV. It is a standalone novel. I thought the writing was good and the flow of the story worked well. Nothing really dragged at all, but I did feel that some of the inner dialogue was repetitive. Some of the characters thoughts kept getting repeated and I found that to be kind of annoying by the end. Maybe it is just me 🙂

I would recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of an MC story. If you like a raw and gritty romance with a heroine that is awesome, then give this book a try. Just because it wasn’t my favorite doesn’t mean others won’t love it.
