Author : Prescott Lane
We all have that someone we can’t forget, the summer it all began, and the sleepless nights wondering what went wrong.
For Gage Montgomery, that someone is Layla Baxter. When he was 18, he took one look at the chocolate-haired bookworm with porcelain skin and knew his life would never be the same. But it all came crashing down when Layla suddenly and mysteriously disappeared from St. Simons Island — leaving him with nothing but her angel wing pendent around his neck. For 12 long years, Gage couldn’t shake what happened, if he’s the one to blame, wondering where Layla might be. When their paths finally cross, he’s determined to get the answers he’s spent his life searching for — and to get the girl, too. Quiet Angel is a story of hope, survival, and lost love made new again.
“I missed you, too, but you were never far.” Gage touched his shirt with the wings inside. “You were always there.”

~ 5 Angel Wing Stars ~
What an inspiring story of, survival, hope and love!!!! This book knocked me off my feet. I absolutely loved the message the author was trying to give while reading this book.
Quiet Angel is the second book I have read by Prescott Lane and she is becoming a go to author for me. I truly enjoyed the first book I read by her called Perfectly Broken, but this book was even better!! Her writing and story telling has improved so much just between the two books. This story flowed effortlessly and was such an intriguing story that I didn’t want to put it down. I will say that the subject matter of this book was a tough one. She covers child molestation, but the way that author wrote this story was extremely well. Nothing was too graphic and everything was written with tactfulness. The author is able to create the characters and tell the story so that the reader can feel everything the characters were feeling. Now don’t get me wrong this wasn’t all heavy, she even had me laughing at times with some of the secondary characters (Poppy). This was also an amazing love story about two young teenagers who fall in love and are separated by circumstances out of their control, but then are reunited years later. So if you are a fan of a second chance romance, this is the book to read.
I loved how the author wrote this book. The first 4 chapters are from when Gage and Layla are teenagers and when they first meet. Then she flash forwards 12 years and plays out there reunion and what happens from there. I thought the time lapse would bug me but it was very well written. In the present time, she fills in the blanks of what happened to both Gage and Layla over their 12 year separation .
I absolutely loved Gage and Layla’s characters. Layla was such a strong heroine. Everything she was forced to endure as a child was horrific, but she came out of it a survivor and a stronger individual for it. I loved that as the story went on the author didn’t portray Layla as the weak victim, which she had every right to be, but she showed that she was strong and could get through anything. Gage was such an amazing man. All he wanted to do was love and be with Layla. He knew from when he was a teenager that she was the one. I loved how protective he was over her, even if some of his tactics were the wrong ones. He always had Layla’s best interest at heart. It was great watching these two grow together and building a lasting love.
The secondary characters were great!!! I LOVED Poppy (Layla’s bff), Dash (Gage’s bff), Helen (Gage’s mom), Emerson (Gage’s sister) and Ava, Jacob, and Connor (Gage’s niece and nephews) They were great support for Layla and Gage, but also provided the comic relief when the story was getting too heavy. I think the only thing I wish we would’ve seen was what came of Emerson’s story. I can’t explain without ruining things, but I felt her part of the story just wasn’t completed. I actually wouldn’t mind a book about her and the kids.
I would 100% recommend this book. If you are looking for that great story about survival, hope and love, then this is the book for you. It will definitely pull at your heartstrings but you will end this book with a HUGE smile on your face. I look forward to more books from this author.
