WOW!!! Absolutely Amazing!!!
I have read all of Sidney Halston’s books and I have to say Pull Me Close is my favorite of hers to date. This book was outstanding!! It was full of such emotion and heart, I couldn’t put it down.
Pull Me Close was so well written, I got sucked into the story and didn’t want it to end. I really didn’t know what to expect from this book, I just knew that Sidney wrote it so I wanted to read it. I have to say it was so completely different from her Worth the Fight Series (Which I loved by the way) This book centers around the tough topic of Mental Illness. I thought this book was well researched and really sheds a light on PTSD and Anxiety Disorder. We get to see how these illnesses effect both the person who lives with the disorders but also those that love the people with the disorder.
I thought the flow and pace of the story was perfect. I also really enjoyed the storyline and characters. I thought Nico was hard to warm up to in the beginning, but as the story unfolds I fell in love with him just like Katherine did. I don’t want to give anything away, but I just want to warn readers that there might be some triggers in this book for some people. I loved that Sidney was able to touch on all my emotions while I read this book. She had me laughing, crying, swooning, and yelling!!! I just love when a book does that to me.
Pull Me Close is the first standalone novel in her newest series. This story follows the journey of healing and overcoming fear, between Katherine and Nico. Katherine is a woman who experienced a traumatic event years ago and because of this event she now suffers from PTSD and Anxiety Disorder. She has pretty much become a recluse, because she won’t leave her apartment. Her life is run by fear!! But her sister Rose is getting married and Katherine decides she wants to be there for her and chooses to go to her Engagement Party at the club called Panic. And Panic she does….. This is where she meets Nico. Nico is co-owner of Panic with his brother Matt. Nico suffers from some serious trust issues due to things that happen in his past. So when he sees Katherine pass out at the club, he jumps to the wrong conclusion. This first meeting starts an unusual friendship between the two. Will Nico believe Katherine once he learns the truth about her past?? Can Nico and Katherine overcome all her issues to find their HEA?? Dive into this story to get those answers.
I would 100% recommend this book to everyone. I truly believe this book will have a lasting impression on all those who read it. I know this story and characters will stick with me well into the future. I also know this will be a book I will read again. This is definitely Sidney’s BEST WORK yet!!!!
After working hard as an attorney, Sidney picked up a pen for the first time at thirty years old to begin her dream of writing. Having never written anything other than very exciting legal briefs, she found an outlet for her imaginative, romantic side and wrote Seeing Red. That first pen stroke sealed the deal, and she fell in love with writing. Sidney lives in South Florida with her husband and children. She loves her family above all else, and reading follows a close second. When she’s not writing, you can find her reading and reading and
reading. She’s a reader first and a writer second. When she’s not writing or reading, her life is complete and utter chaos, trying to balance family life with work and writing (and reading). But she wouldn’t have it any other way.
