He found me in blood and tears.
I stayed with him through darkness and fire.
We loved each other in the moment between innocence and bitter truth.
We were the kids easily ignored, who grew into adults we hardly knew.
We weren’t meant to last forever. And we didn’t.
He ran away.
I tried to move on.
Yet I never stopped thinking about the boy who had fought to keep me alive in a world that would have swallowed me whole. He was the past that I buried, but never forgot.
Until the day I found him again, years after believing I had lost him forever.
And in cold, resentful eyes, I saw the heart of the man who had been everything when I had nothing at all. So I vowed to hold onto the second chance that was stolen from the children we had been.
Sometimes fate is ugly. Life can be twisted.
And who we are can be ruined by who we once were.
For two people who had survived so much, we would have to learn how to hold on before we were forced to let go.

~ 5 ‘One Day Soon’ Stars ~
I don’t even know how I can possibly write a review that would do this book justice!!
Just when I think A. Meredith Walters’s writing can’t get any better she gives us One Day Soon. This is her best work to date, in my opinion. There truly are no words to express properly the emotions I felt while reading this book. I honestly couldn’t put it down. The storyline was so interesting that it had me hooked from page one. This story felt like such an honest portrayal of these characters lives.
One Day Soon is told from Imogen’s POV. That is probably the only negative I have about this book, and that is I wish we would’ve gotten Yoss’s POV also. We did get a small glance towards the end of the book and it made me wish for more from him. I especially would’ve liked to know his thoughts and feelings when we are told about the past. Even with that said, I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
I don’t want to say much about the storyline. This is a book you need to experience for yourself and go into blind. Just know that because it is written by A. Meredith Walters, you know it is going to be a great book. I will say this, your emotions will be all over the place with this story. She will make you laugh, swoon, yell, and break your heart, but never fear, she will put you back together in the end. I ended this book with such a feeling of contentment and a smile on my face. I was so happy to see where this story ended, to me it was perfect!!!
This is kind of a second chance love story, because the story is told in present time and also from 15 years ago. Imogen and Yoss met when they were just teenagers, both living on the street. Learning to survive and in time falling in love. When they are then separated only to be reunited 15 years later under tense circumstances. This story and relationship is definitely a slow burn type story. I takes the whole book to learn of all the secrets of Imi and Yoss’s past and where their future lies. But let me tell you, this is a journey you will want to take with them. I am afraid to say more because I really don’t want to take away from any readers experience of this story.
If you are a fan of Ms. Walters’s books, then you don’t want to miss this book. It is definitely on my Best of 2016 list!! If you are new to this author, than this is the best book to be introduced to her to.
