From #1 New York Times bestselling author Sandra Brown comes a gripping story of family ties and forbidden attraction.
A Texas Ranger, relegated to deskwork due to past recklessness, petitions to regain custody of his five-year-old daughter, and his case is assigned to a family court judge who is as attractive as she is ambitious. When a masked gunman barges in during the custody hearing with his sights on the judge, the Ranger reacts instinctually and goes after him. But authorities apprehend the wrong man, and the real gunman remains unknown, at large, and a threat. Will this take-charge lawman jeopardize his chances of custody by going after the would-be assassin? And will this unlikely pair be able to deny the forbidden attraction building between them?

~ 5 Outstanding Stars ~
Holy Moly…..This book was AMAZING. It was exactly what I have been looking for lately.
Friction is filled with mystery, suspense and romance. I was kept on the edge of my seat throughout the whole book. I honestly had a hard time putting this book down. You can’t help to want to turn the pages as fast as you can because you want everything revealed, but I also didn’t want this book to end….It was that good. When I thought I figured things out, a new twist was thrown at me and I was trying to figure it out again.
I have never read a Sandra Brown novel before, so I jumped at the chance when I got the blog tour request. I am really glad I did. I was looking for something different than what I have been reading lately and this fit the bill. I really can’t talk about the storyline much at all because it is filled with so many twists and turns I am afraid of spoiling something. Just know that as you’re reading this story, nothing is as it seems. Sandra honestly threw surprises at us all the way to the end of the book.
I thought Sandra did an AMAZING job creating a suspenseful story, but also added just the right amount of Romance to keep the spice alive. Another thing that I loved about this book was the uniqueness of the storyline, I honestly can’t recall ever reading a storyline like this one. It was quite refreshing. I thought the pace of the story was perfect. The writing style of Sandra Brown is excellent, she knows how to suck her readers in. I felt she gave us the perfect amount of information that we needed for this story without over sharing and slowing the pace down. What I found interesting was how this story is truly told over a week period in time, but nothing felt rushed or unbelievable. Even when it came to Crawford and Holly’s feeling for each other. You could consider this insta-love because of the time frame, but the way it is written, I never got the insta-love feeling. It all just flowed perfectly.
I am just going to end this review by saying, if you are looking for a unique, captivating, suspenseful love story, then this is the book for you. I know I will for sure be reading more of Sandra Brown’s books in the future. I guess my mom was right when she told me I should read Sandra’s books….lol 🙂
