Chelsey Young’s dad was a rock star. Glamorous, right? But late nights, frequent travelling, and watching endless women rub their bodies against Lukas Young’s in a bid for his attention wasn’t exactly how Chelsey planned to spend her senior year of high school.
So when Kye Burke, of the ultra-sexy band Dirty B, sets his sights on Chelsey, she figures the best way to get him off her back is by taking his sexy butt to bed.
But after one night together, Kye has no intention of staying away from Chelsey, especially when she’s kissing him one minute then pushing him away the next. From watching her father, Chelsey knows the rock star lifestyle that Kye leads—being away for long stretches of time, girls throwing themselves at him on the regular, shirtless photos showing up in his inbox ten times a day. She wants no part of it.
Kye is determined for Chelsey to get to know him, the real him behind the rock star persona. But that isn’t so easy when Kye’s schedule will take him away for days, weeks, even a month or two at a time, which is a dealbreaker for Chelsey. Long distance means temptation to stray, and infidelity was the reason her own parents split. She knows it’s not fair to project her own insecurities onto Kye, but some things are unavoidable.
But Kye Burke isn’t Lukas Young.
And, distance or not, he’s going to damn well prove it.

” They’re relentless, sure, but they’re respectful. They’re forceful but sweet. And, by God, they can be the biggest pains in the a$$ I’ve ever met, but when they love….When the Burke boys love, they love with everything they have and are. When the Burke boys love, they love forever.”….Sophie
I think Sophie summed up the Burke Brothers perfectly with that statement!!!
I have fallen in love with all the Burke boys since they were all introduced to me in Book 1…. Dirty Secret. Each of the brothers and stories have gotten better than the one before it. I honestly have to say that I think Kye is my favorite Burke of them all. (of course besides Mila)
This book was bittersweet for me, because I couldn’t wait to read about Kye and Chelsey, but I am also really sad to see them go. This is the last book in the Burke Brother’s series and I will miss each and every one of these characters. With each book, all these characters have gotten under my skin more and more and I know I will have to read these books again in the future to get my fill. Emma has created a cast of characters in this series that stick with you well after you have finished reading the book. I love that each of the characters are so relatable and you just can’t help but fall in love with them and want to be in their circle of friends. As with the other books, I loved the storyline of this book. It had some funny times, happy times, times I wanted to throw my kindle and of course sexy times. It kept my attention all the way through. I really had a hard time putting this book down. I couldn’t get enough of sweet Kye Burke and Sassy Chelsey.
As you can see, this book is about Kye and Chelsey. Kye is Aiden’s twin brother and a guitarist in Dirty B. Chelsey is the best friend of Sophie, Ella, Jessie and Leila (Burke boys sister) She has known these boys for many years. She is physically attracted to Kye but is also determined to stay away from him. Well that doesn’t work for Kye, since he is determined to make Chelsey his. Their story is a strong case of cat and mouse or push and pull, but it will completely suck you in. I couldn’t help but root for them all through the book. Emma did warn me that Chelsey was a hard character to love, but I didn’t find that at all. I really liked her character. She reminded me of me a little. She stood her ground and spoke her mind. The only thing I didn’t like was her comparison between her father and Kye. Just because her dad was a jerk musician, doesn’t make all musicians jerks. And Kye, I dare each and everyone of you out there not to fall in love with this man. He was so unbelievably sweet but still had his alpha side to melt your panties 😉 He is truly one determined man when he wants something!!
I loved how much Emma put the other characters in this story. We got to see a lot of Tate, Ella, Connor, Sophie, Aidan, Jessie and Mila. Each of these characters play a huge part in this book. I still stand by that Mila is my favorite character in this series. That little girl totally melted my heart 🙂
Dirty Tricks, just like all the other books in this series, is technically a stand alone book, but I truly believe to get the most out of this series and the Burke Brothers, you should read these books in order. You will see that each of the characters are so intricately entwined in each others lives, that you’ll want to start from the beginning to get to know all of them. This book is told in Dual POV, which is always great in my opinion, because then you get to read about both sides of the story and what everyone is feeling and thinking.
So if you are looking for that Rockstar romance, with fantastic characters and an entertaining storyline, than this is the book for you. If you are a fan of Emma’s then you don’t want to miss this book. I am truly sad to see this series come to an end 🙁
“What,” Chelsey exclaims, “the hell is that?”
With a wide smile spreading across my face, I shove my hands in my pockets like a teenage boy and look at her. “A Christmas tree.”
“Are those . . . penises?”
“Like real ones?” She jerks her alarmed gaze to me.
“No. Just plastic.”
She flicks her tongue across her lips. “Uh-huh. Why do you have penises across your Christmas tree?”
“Because he’s an immature little bastard,” Leila answers for me.
“You didn’t stop me,” I shoot back.
“Hell no I didn’t. I cannot wait to see Mom’s face when she sees this!”
“When she sees what?” Mom’s voice creeps through the house ominously, and the close of the door after her sounds like the signal that I should run away.
“Uh . . . I’m just gonna go . . .to the store. . . .” I shuffle toward the door that connects the front room with the kitchen.
Chelsey lifts her eyebrows in amusement, and Dad grabs the back of my shirt so I can’t escape.
You wouldn’t think I was twenty-four. For numerous reasons, obviously.
“Kye Burke, why are there tiny penises on my Christmas tree?”
Her voice is calm. Really calm. I’m even more convinced that I should run. “Merry Cock-mas?”
Mom’s expression is somewhere between insane amusement and extreme frustration.
“I’m just gonna come back later . . .” Chelsey whispers, edging toward the living room door. “When there are less . . . cocks.”
“Good idea! I’ll come with you.” I wrestle out of Dad’s grip and dart behind him, through the kitchen, and into the hall.
Chelsey laughs and grabs my arm, dragging me back into the room. “I said I was going. I didn’t say you were escaping this cock-up.”
“Great choice of words,” Dad chuckles.
Mom pinches the bridge of her nose. “I should have known that when three boys left, one boy would have to make the impression of three,” she says, mostly to herself. “I should have known that the one who never left his little peep alone at two would one day decorate my tree in cocks.”
“Mom! What the hell?” I sputter.
“I should have known that his ball-hoarding obsession at six was a sign of things to come,” she sighs heavily and drops her hand. “After all, there’s one in every boyband. I thought I was ready for this.” Then, she turns to me. “Kye, son, we love you anyway, but I have to ask. Are you gay?”
Chelsey lets go of me, and laughter rips from her. Leila laughs, too, her book falling to the floor. Dad covers his face with his hands, and Mom just stands there in the middle of the room, her eyes wide. Her hands are now clasped in front of her sympathetically, and the tiny upturn of the right side of her mouth explains it all.
“Well played, Mother,” I say reluctantly, walking back toward the front door. “Well. Played.”
