His heart was turned off…
Until she turned him on…
Christopher Moore gave up on the idea of love years ago. Now, his life is an endless string of parties and an even longer string of girls. Enjoying the physical perks with none of the emotional mess, he’s convinced everyone that he’s satisfied—everyone but himself.
Samantha Schultz has moved on with her life. Finishing her student teaching and living with her boyfriend, she’s deluded herself into believing she’s content. But there is one boy she never forgot—her first love—and she keeps the memory of him locked up tight. She will never allow any man to break her the way Christopher did.
When Christopher’s sister and her family move into a new neighborhood, Christopher is completely unprepared to find Samantha living at the end of the street. Memories and unspent desires send them on collision course of sex, lies, and lust. But when guilt and fear send Samantha running, Christopher will have to fight for what has always been his.
“No one tells a story about “The One” with as much beauty and tragedy as AL Jackson does. You can’t read her words without having them sink deep inside of you and sticking around like a favorite memory.” ~ New York Times bestselling author Jay Crownover

~ 4.5 Second Chance Stars ~
One I can always count on when I decide to read a book written by A.L. Jackson is the mount of feelings and emotions that will overcome me while reading the book.
Come to Me Recklessly is no different!!!! This book is filled with non stop emotion and feelings. I have always loved that A.L. can make her readers feel exactly what her characters are feeling. As always this book was flawless. Her writing style always amazes me and just makes me want to continue reading anything she writes.
Come to Me Recklessly is the third book in her Closer To Me Series. It can be read as a standalone but I wouldn’t recommend that. This book is about Christopher and Samantha. Christopher is Aly’s brother and Jared’s Best Friend (They are the characters from book 1 & 2). Samantha is Christopher’s long lost love from high school.
This book is a second chance romance. A.L. Jackson writes a lot of these type books as well as she should…..they truly are her specialty. I was so excited to know that we were going to get Christopher’s story. I fell in love with him in Aly and Jared’s books. Yes he was a jerk and a player in the first two books, but I just knew he needed his story told so he could get his redemption. And I was right….his story/book is phenomenal!!! I think I fell more in love with him after reading this book. I loved that this book is written in Dual POV, because we truly needed to hear both sides to this story. It is also written in both past and present time. Samantha and Christopher’s story unfolds throughout the whole book….we find out everything through flashback chapters to 7 years earlier. I thought this was a perfect way to unfold their history, because you truly got to connect with their characters so much better.
“Just you and me and forever.”
Samantha and Christopher’s story began when they met at 15 and 16 years old, in high school. Samantha was constantly bullied by the Mean Girls, until Christopher stood up to them and protected Samantha. Both of them felt a connection and a bond that they couldn’t explain, but also couldn’t fight against it. Their road was a rocky one and things happened, which lead to them separating for 7 years. Now Samantha is back but unavailable and Christopher is still harboring anger towards her from how things ended 7 years earlier. Over the course of the book we watch them rebuild that bond that they had in high school and rekindle the love that over the years NEVER went away.
“What does it take to delete the past? A thousand apologies? A million regrets? A litany of prayers? If I shouted them, would you hear? If I whispered them, would you believe? If I fell at your feet, would you forgive? If I asked, would you start again?”
I loved both Christopher and Samantha’s characters. Yes there were some times that I was rolling my eyes (at Samantha) and wanting to smack them upside the head (mostly at Christopher) but these two had such a sweet love story once they got it right. Christopher had me swooning so many times in this book. I loved the notes/cards he sent to Samantha. I will say that I was a little disappointed with how things were handled between Samantha and her boyfriend Ben (who was a complete d-bag) I personally thought she should’ve dumped him so much earlier. You knew while reading this book that Ben was not a good guy. Some might ask if this book is a love triangle but I wouldn’t classify it as that…..it is clear from the get go who Samantha’s heart belongs to. It is just a matter of time for them work things out.
One of the other best parts of this book was the amount Aly and Jared are in this book. It felt like a completion to their story as well. It was great getting to see them after their books ended. I liked knowing that they are happy and living out their HEA with baby Ella. Both Jared and Aly play such supporting roles in this book to both Christopher and Samantha. I loved the family bond that was shown in this story.
I would definitely recommend this book to ANYONE who is a fan of A.L. Jackson’s and if you have read the other books in this series. I thought this was the perfect book to end this series with. I almost want to say that this one might actually be my favorite of the three books….it’s a close call with book 2.
By the waist, he lifted me, pinning me to the wall with the hard planes of his body. I could do nothing but wrap my legs around his hips. He rocked against me, the friction of his jeans igniting that fire, the threat of Ben fueling those flames. He buried his face in my neck as if he didn’t want to see, his bite aggressive as he turned to nip at my jaw, at my chin, moving to my lips. “Told you I wouldn’t let you go. Not ever again.”
His frenzied voice ached with regret.
“Never,” I told him, grinding myself on his erection that was pressed tight between my thighs. I felt desperate to erase the distance Ben had tried to wedge between us.
Christopher seemed even more fractured over it, unable to fathom the idea of what Ben had tried to force on me.
“I just got you back and he’s trying to take you away.”
“I’m here…I’m here.”
“Here,” he said as if a demand, tearing at my clothes, overwrought as he rushed to palm every inch of exposed skin. My shoulders were pressed to the wall, my chest heaving with harsh breaths. He pushed up my shirt and dragged off the cups of my bra. My breasts felt heavy and full as he looked on them with a stuttered groan. He splayed his hands across my back, dragging me forward, and his mouth was there, drawing my nipple into his hot mouth, sucking hard before he turned to the other.
I bucked, my hands fists in his hair.
He wrapped an arm low around my waist, his body leaving mine for a fraction of a second, and without setting me down, he dragged my shorts and panties from my legs. Fumbling, he pushed his jeans and underwear down around his thighs.
Without warning, he thrust into me.
I cried out from the perfect invasion.
Christopher took me completely.
